Kim Yeon-koung is a South Korean female professional volleyball player who plays as an Outside Hitter. She is the captain of the South Korea women’s national volleyball team, and currently plays for the Turkish team Eczacıbaşı VitrA. She received an MVP and Best Scorer award at the 2012 London Olympics. She is regarded as one of the world’s the best and richest volleyball players. Born on February 26, 1988 in Gurye, South Korea, to parents Lee Keum-ok and Kim Dong-gil, she moved to Ansan when she was young. She started playing volleyball in 4th grade and made her professional debut for Heungkuk Life in 2005.
