She is best known for her roles in the films Volver, Vanilla Sky, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Broken Embraces, Nine, Don’t Move, Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Zoolander 2 and All the Pretty Horses. For her role as Maria Elena in the 2008 film Vicky Cristina Barcelon, Cruz won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She has also starred in the films Twice Born, Ma Ma, The Queen of Spain, Loving Pablo, Everybody Knows, and Pain and Glory.
