Thakur began her acting career with the television soap operas Mujhse Kuchh Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan and Kumkum Bhagya, and made her film debut with the 2014 Marathi film Vitti Dandu. Thakur made her Hindi film debut with Love Sonia which was released in 2018, and gained recognition with the 2019 biographical films Super 30 and Batla House. She played Princess Noor Jahan alias Sita Mahalakshmi in the 2022 Indian Telugu-language period romantic drama film Sita Ramam, written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi.
