Swoosie Kurtz is an Emmy Award-winning American actress. She is best known for her roles in television, such as Love, Sidney (1981–1983), Sisters (1991–1996), ER (1998), Huff (2004–2006), Pushing Daisies (2007–2009), and Mike & Molly (2010–2016), and in the films Baja Oklahoma (1988), The Image (1990) and the 1993 And the Band Played On. She is the recipient of several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy for her guest-starring performance on Carol Burnett’s comedy series Carol & Company (1990). Born Swoosie Trust Kurtz on September 6, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, she is the only child of Margo and Frank Kurtz. She got interested in acting after performing at a stage play in school. She made her Broadway debut in the 1975 revival of Ah, Wilderness. She never married and has no children.
