Hansal Mehta is an Indian film director, producer, writer and actor. He is best known for directing the 2013 biographical drama film Shahid, for which he won the National Film Award for Best Direction. He is also notable for directing the films City Lights, Aligarh, Simran and Omerta. His biographical drama web-series, Scam 1992 (2020) depicting stock broker Harshad Mehta became a hit. Mehta has also directed several television series such as Amrita, Highway, Yaadein, Lakshya, and Neeti.
