Jay Rock is an American rapper and songwriter who signed to the independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment in 2005. He became known for his 2008 commercial debut single, “All My Life (In the Ghetto)”, which featured fellow American rappers Lil Wayne and will.i.am. Jay Rock is also known as a member of the hip hop supergroup Black Hippy, alongside Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul. Jay Rock released his debut album, Follow Me Home, in July 2011, followed by his second album, 90059 in September 2015 on Apple Music and the iTunes Store; the physical editions were released on September 18, 2015 by Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). His third studio album, Redemption, was released by Top Dawg Entertainment and Interscope Records on June 15, 2018. In February 2019, Rock won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for “King’s Dead”.
