She is also known for her roles in Love, Bitter, Underground and Sour Apples. She made her television debut in the series Ferhunde Hanimlar in 1999. Born in Diyarbakır, Turkey, on February 17, 1977, to Bedri Öden, she grew up in in Ankara. She has five sisters and one brother. She belongs to Zaza descent. One of Turkish’s most popular actresses, Songül is the recipient of several accolades, including a 2008 Ismet Kuntay Theatre Award and a 2011 Siyaset Magazine Award.
