Tim Burton is an American director, producer, screenwriter and artist, notable for his gothic fantasy and horror films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Frankenweenie. He also directed the superhero films Batman and Batman Returns, the sci-fi film Planet of the Apes, the fantasy-drama Big Fish, the musical adventure film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the fantasy films Alice in Wonderland and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Burton wrote and illustrated a poetry book entitled The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories in 1997.
